I know the last 20 some-odd months have been demoralizing for many business owners who, through no fault of their own have had to endure some of the most abusive policies ever imposed on small businesses in this country. Some of these measures were (and are) meant to destroy small businesses in my opinion. Why you ask?
Small business owners are not easily manipulated by the state, they account for almost 70% of new jobs created unlike larger, multi national corporate entities who are net job destroyers. They regularly hollow out American communities and move their jobs overseas where they can abuse works rights with impunity. The state now wants to eliminate the independent operators in favor of large corporations who fund their campaigns. They require compliant businesses to implement their control agenda and small business owners simply don't play that game. To the state, they are a problem much like trying to herd cats into the kennel lol!
The government over-reach however has backfired and now we can see the silver lining in all this madness:
"Entrepreneurs applied for federal tax-identification numbers to register 4.54 million new businesses from January through October this year, up 56% from the same period of 2019, Census Bureau data show. That was the largest number on records that date back to 2004. Two-thirds were for businesses that aren’t expected to hire employees."
Whoa! This means that a whole lot of brand new business owners just decided this year to say "take this job and shove it! I ain't working here no more"
The blow-back against the over-reaching mandates have caused many smart, capable & productive former employees to take the risk of going it alone. Not all will survive but it's remarkable that so many have made the decision recently to try. I believe the tide is turning and I speak with hundreds of small business owners every week. The stories I hear are ones of courage and determination to succeed, it's quite humbling for me considering what many of these hero's have had to endure just to keep their independence.
Things aren't looking good for the establishment favorites either:
"Traffic at retail stores on Black Friday dropped 28.3% compared with 2019 levels, as Americans shifted more of their spending online and kicked off their shopping earlier in the year, according to preliminary data from Sensormatic Solutions."
Even "Cyber Monday" which is considered a more accurate barometer than the old "brick & mortar" retail outlets had it's first decline (1.4%) EVER!
So here's my advice to the newbies: Let's go!!!!
