Supply chains are messed up, now what?

Today's headlines are filled with dire warnings about supply chain disruptions caused by covid-19. To be clear: these disruptions are 100% because of covid-19 POLICY and not the virus itself. That is, the policy response and it's misguided objectives are completely self-inflicted damage to the economy, small business owners and consumers/employees.

Ok so, now what? If one dispassionately analyzes the new landscape (regardless of how it came to be) it's clear there are ways to deal with the adversity for better or worse.

Disruptions are upsetting but they create opportunities also. For example, materials that are hard to come by can be extra profitable for those who manage to secure them - if your business is experiencing increased sales demand, it's wise to use capital now to lock in materials and supplies when they're available. Timing is everything; clients of mine who received capital infusions earlier this year used the money to position themselves and now are profiting handsomely.

It's pretty clear that no amount of planning will save the Christmas season for retailers this year except maybe online and specialty items. That ship has sailed because of math; there's just no time even if everything was working perfectly which it most definitely is NOT!

A perfect storm approaches of hard vaccine mandate dismissals and/or work stoppages, Flu season & shortages of every-darn-thing.

The Government, which likes to throw money at every problem much like the guy with a hammer who thinks every problem is a nail, is about to turn on the spigot to full-on depreciating our money's purchasing power even further and at an increasing rate of fall.

Taking capital now and and putting it to work in your business by using it for hiring, advertising or supplies is more profitable now because, as the price of things you buy for your business increases, the rate you pay for capital remains the same.

For those of you who know me and also those who don't I'll be standing shoulder to shoulder with all my business owners as we go through this tough time. I'm standing by to approve affordable, non-bank capital to businesses that are in it not only to survive, but THRIVE!
